Johnsons Baby Powder Cancer Lawsuit

Johnson's Baby Powder and Shower to Shower Body Powder Ovarian Cancer Trials

Details of the two baby powder cancer trials that resulted in Johnson & Johnson being ordered to pay $127 million.

The two Johnson's Baby Powder cancer lawsuits both made the same claims against Johnson & Johnson, that the talcum powder in the company's Johnson's Baby Powder and Shower to Shower Body Powder that the women used for feminine hygiene, caused them to develop ovarian cancer, but other elements were decidedly different. Most notably, the plaintiff in the first trial, Jackie Fox, died of ovarian cancer before that trial started, while the second plaintiff, Gloria Ristesund, is now in remission after undergoing a hysterectomy as part of her cancer treatment. This salient fact no doubted weighed heavily upon the minds' of the jurors, yet their finding of fact was identical in both cases.
